Boots Haul

Every now and then, Boots hold their 3 for 2 across all cosmetics offer and I just can't resist picking up a few bits and pieces to add to my ever-growing make-up stash. The time this offer was on, I did plan on picking up a few new releases from Boots anyway, such as the L'Oreal Infallible Matte Foundation and the Rimmel Lasting Finish Concealer, however it was the perfect opportunity to pick up some things that have been on my 'to try' list for forever, especially since I had my Boots double points voucher to use as well!

What I bought:

By now I've tried most of the products enough to give them a review, so keep your eyes peeled for that. I've particularly been loving the L'Oreal foundation and the Revlon face illuminator!

What do you think of my Boots haul? Have you tried any of these products? Let me know in the comments!

Nails Of The Week | Manicure Monday

It's no secret that I'm completely smitten with the Speedy Quick Dry collection from Barry M. The shade range is beautiful, they apply like a dream, they last so long on the nails and most importantly, they do actually dry quickly, and with very little mess.
Here's a lovely peachy pink/coral shade called 'In A Heart Beat', which is one of the most popular shades from the collection. It's also perfect for this beautiful Spring weather we've been having recently!
P.S. Here's to the first pictures being taken on my new camera, yay!

e.l.f. Cosmetics Haul

As you may or may not know, the UK el.f. Cosmetics website is going to be closing down. I think it was because the distributor of e.l.f. Cosmetics, Distribeauty have started a new beauty project called The Beauty Crowd, which also looks very interesting as they're already featuring some brands that are difficult to find in Northern Ireland and the UK, such as Milani and Fairydrops. However, do not fear as e.l.f. Cosmetics products will still be available to buy from their US website.

I've never tried anything from el.f. Cosmetics before, but I've always wanted to because I always hear good things about their products, considering how affordable they are. So, since their products were up to 80% off, this seemed like the perfect time to try some of their products. Well, what was left anyway!

Studio Moisturising Foundation Stick - Ivory

Waterproof Eyeliner Crayon - Brown

So, that's everything I got from the e.l.f. Cosmetics closing down sale. I've already tried a few things from the haul, such as the eyeshadow pencils and the lipsticks and so far I've been reasonably impressed considering how affordable they were. Of course, I will do product reviews soon once I give everything a good test and let you know if anything deserves a special mention!

What do you think of e.l.f. Cosmetics? Would you recommend any of their products? Let me know in the comments!

Nails Of The Week | Manicure Monday

I'm still feeling the Easter vibes from my chocolate induced food coma last night, so I decided to make my nails ever so slightly Easter themed as well. I think they look like little mini eggs, which I've had way too many of this year, but I'm always sad to see them go.

Weekly Snapshots | A Little Catch-Up

First things first, happy Easter! I hope you all had a great day filled with chocolate and happiness!

Saying as I've been away for quite a while, I thought I'd do a more light-hearted catch-up post, but with pictures. Besides, would you really want to read about everything I've done since October? Didn't think so. Wouldn't blame you either. However, here's a little summary:

  • I got a ukulele. (Excuse the Christmas jumper)
  • I got a fringe and a few inches off my hair.
  • I also dyed it pink.
  • I got a new tattoo.
  • I got a Pandora birthstone ring.
  • I went paint-balling.
  • Then had the best, most purple bath in the world when I got home.
  • One weekend I had Nutella and marshmallows waffles with mint chocolate chip ice-cream.
  • This weeks NOTW.

Some things I forgot to photograph:

  • I got my first ever MAC lipstick. (Patisserie, just in case you were wondering)
  • I got a first in my design module.
  • I got a new desk/workspace.

So, I think that's pretty much everything I've been up to since I've last been blogging 'properly'. I'm sad that I never got the chance to write about my birthday/Christmas/New Years Day etc., but I'm determined to make this one of my best years in a long time, especially since last year was one of my worst.

How was your week? Do you have anything to look forward to in the week ahead? Let me know in the comments!

Latest In Beauty | The Capital Beauty Box

Up until lately, I'd never bought a beauty box before. Mainly because there wasn't enough products that appealed to me in the box. Then, one day I stumbled across this little box of beauty on the internet.
The Capital Beauty Box by Latest In Beauty contains 9 products from some major brands such as Stila, Rimmel and Pixi. The best part? It was only £14.95. Actually, I only paid £13.50 for mine because I used the discount code "HELLO10" as it was my first order.

So, let's talk about what's inside:

Collection Eyes Uncovered Palette - Nude
Collection Lengthening Mascara
Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner - Black Amethyst

The main reason why I bought this beauty box was because of the eye products. Considering one Stila eye liner is about £13, the box is seriously good value. Plus, I don' have anything like this shade in my eye liner collection, so it could be interesting.
I haven't tried much from Collection apart from the Lasting Perfection concealer. However, these little palettes seem to be seriously popular within the beauty industry right now because Amelia Liana has compared them to the Naked Basics palettes, so I'm excited to give them a go!
I've also heard good things about the quality of Collection mascaras. Besides, a girl can't have too many mascaras.

Pixi Lip Blush - Energy
Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer - Rhubarb

I've tried the Pixi lip balms and I loved them, so I'm excited to try their lip blush as the shade I got was a lovely peachy coral colour.
Burt's Bees lip balms are among some of my favourites. This seems just like their lip balms, just with a bit more colour payoff and the tiniest pieces of shimmer running through it.

Rimmel 60 Seconds Super Shine Nail Polish By Rita Ora - Glaston-Berry
Nail Buffer

As a girl who is absolutely obsessed with nail polish, I can never have too many. Plus, I love the quality of the Rita Ora nail polishes!
I'm not really a big nail buffer person, but I'm going to put this one in my handbag for those little nail related emergencies.

Jimmy Choo Flash Fragrance
STYLONDON Jewellery Inspired Temporary Tattoos

The only Jimmy Choo fragrance that I'd smelt before was the self-titled "Jimmy Choo by Jimmy Choo" perfume and it didn't appeal to me that much. So, I was pleasantly surprised when I smelt this. It's a lot less heavy and more sweet, perfect for Spring!
A love a good tattoo and after seeing these I kind of wish metallic gold tattoos were a real thing. Even if they do remind me of the rub-on tattoos you used to get in cereal and Pot Noodles. Anyone else remember them?

All in all, a great little box of goodies. I can see myself getting a lot of use out of the eye and lip products already and of course I will do full reviews when I've given everything a proper trial run. The only thing I would say is that shades may vary, as I got a different shade of things from what was advertised on the website, however I'm happy with the shades that I did get.

March Favourites

It's scary to think that we're already a quarter of the way into 2015 and Spring is (supposedly) officially here. It seems like no time at all I was stocking up on wooly hats, lip balm and hand cream to prepare myself for the harsh Winter weather. Anyway, here's what I've been loving throughout March!

First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser

I think I have found 'the one'! Whatever magic is contained within this cleanser, we just get along like tea and biscuits. I've actually been using this for a quite a while now and over time I've noticed a reduction in blemishes, redness and my skin is less irritated and tight. It's safe for suitable skin, yet it still manages to remove every trace of make-up without any irritation to my skin. The only thing I would say is that it stings my eyes a little bit, so I just use the Nivea Daily Essentials Sensitive 3 In 1 Micellar Cleansing Water to remove any eye make-up that I may be wearing. I can't see me falling out of love with this cleanser any time soon.

La Roche-Posay Serozinc Spray

Another product that I've been loving for quite a while now and it just goes hand in hand with the First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser is the La Roche-Posay Serozinc Spray. Again, by using this and the cleanser together, I've noticed that I've had fewer breakouts and irritation to my skin, and by fewer I mean hardly any. I love how easy it is to use as well, I just spray it straight onto my face after cleansing, wait for it to dry a couple of seconds, then just continue on with moisturiser, eye cream and my beloved Nuxe Reve De Miel Lip Balm.

Fudge Urban Iced Coconut Cocktail Hairspray

Coconut lovers rejoice! This mouth-watering scents manages to linger on my hair all day. So, whenever I'm doing hair swooshes, all I smell is coconut! Aside from the smell, it's actually a really good hairspray as well. Since getting a fringe (or 'bangs' if you will), I've been putting a lot more effort into my hair. However, this also means that my fringe can stick straight up in the morning and I'm in a rush to straighten it and hope it will stay in place. This little can of wonder manages to keep my hair in place all day, without being sticky or heavy.

Sally Hansen Miracle Cure Strengthener

Whenever my nails are in need of some TLC, I always look for Sally Hansen products. I use this as a base coat every time I do my nails, so say once a week/4 times a month and I've already noticed the difference after a few uses. My nails were so damaged and split from playing the ukulele, I had to cut them right down because it was driving me insane. However, since I've been using this, I've been let them grow again because they are so much stronger! I've even tried to bend my nails to test how strong they are and nothing has broken them, success!

Rimmel Red Nose Red Lipstick by Kate For Comic Relief

This year, Red Nose Day was on the 13th of March and Rimmel kindly made a limited edition lipstick for us make-up lovers in which £1.67 of every purchase went to charity, so of course I had to buy one! If you've tried any of the Kate lipsticks by Rimmel, they are the same lovely, creamy formula as them. The lipstick appears on me as a lovely cherry red colour and as an added bonus, it actually smells like cherry! If you haven't got one and you love red lips, I'd definitely recommend picking one up before they're all sold out, I've already got so much use out of mine.

Non-beauty favourites:

Orange Is The New Black

This month I finished watching Orange Is The New Black and I already can't wait for Season 3 to come out in June on Netflix. By far, it's one of the most hilarious TV shows I have ever watched and I love (nearly) all of the characters. If you're stuck for something to watch, I'd definitely recommend it!

James Bay

After his single, 'Hold Back The River', I just knew I couldn't wait to hear more from James Bay. His album, 'Chaos And The Calm' was released on the 23rd of March and it's already a firm favourite of mine. I can't wait to see what 2015 holds for him!

Cadbury Mini Eggs & Creme Eggs

Every year, the mini eggs and creme eggs obsession begins. I don't even want to know how many of these I've eaten already since they have been released for Easter. If you haven't tried any of them, you NEED to try them as soon as possible before they disappear!
