'Twas The Night Before Christmas...

One thing I love to do on Christmas Eve is have a little pamper routine to get myself to get ready to chill out for the rest of the night and hopefully have a decent nights sleep!

Usually, the first thing I'll do is run the bath and pop in a Lush bath bomb or bubble bar. This year, I've decided that I'm going to use my favourite Lush product, The Comforter Bubble Bar because of it's gorgeous berry scent.
I'll then go ahead and add just a bit of my favourite festive shower gel into the bath, the treaclemoon Warm Cinnamon Nights Bath And Shower Gel. No guesses for what this shower gel smells like, but it's that kind of cinnamon that's not too sweet and not too spicy scented, I just love it and buy a bottle of this every year.

Once I'm in the bath I'll shampoo and rinse my hair, then apply a good amount of the Lee Stafford Hair Growth Treatment, massage it into my hair and leave it for 10 minutes. I'll then rinse it out and apply and rinse my conditioner.
Just after I've applied my hair mask, I'll get to work on using the Lush Mask Of Magnaminty Face Mask. I've already cleansed my face using the First Aid Beauty Skin Rescue Deep Cleanser With Red Clay before getting into the bath, so that my face will be completely clean and make-up free which will help the face mask to dig deep and dig out any impurities lurking underneath my skin. After my face mask has been on for about 10 minutes, I'll get out of the bath and wash it off, then continue on with my skincare routine.

While my skin is still slightly damp, I'll apply a generous amount of the Dove DermaSpa Goodness3 Body Oil* all over my body. I'll then put on some Dove DermaSpa Intensive Hand Cream* while I wait for the kettle to boil to make myself a hot chocolate.

I'll then dry my hair, pop on the fluffiest, most festive pair of pyjamas and slippers I have, stick on a Christmas movie, usually Elf because it's my favourite, drink my hot chocolate and make a start on my nails.

I recently did a Christmas Nails post were I discussed lots of festive nail polish options, so if you read that then you'll have seen the Models Own - Red Lustre and Rimmel - Ruby Crush nail polishes, which combined makes a gorgeous red base with a red and silver glitter top coat, which is just perfect for Christmas.

What do you do on Christmas Eve? I hope you all have a great Christmas, whatever you're doing!

Christmas Nails

With the countdown to Christmas well and truly on (only one week to go, yay!), I've started to have a rummage around my nail polish collection to see what festive nail polish combinations I can conjure up. Just to note, be prepared for a lot of red and glitter...

First up is two of my favourite nail polish purchases of the year, Barry M - Sparkling Ruby
and Barry M - Sparkling Amethyst. They're from the Gelly range, which is my personal favourite because of the smooth, opaque formulation that glides onto my nails with ease. I hope they bring out more of these some time soon, I just love them. Although, apparently these little glitter babies are limited edition for the festive season, so if you like the look of them, be sure to grab some quick! I've done a full review of these here if you want more information.

Next up are two little mini-sized nail polishes that I got in a magazine last year are Orly - Monroe's Red and Orly - Hair Band. Monroe's Red is a bright red shimmer and Hair Band is gold glitter. They are both gorgeous separately, but together they make the ultimate Christmas combo.

One shade I picked up a while ago was Barry M - Fuschia Generation, as I heard Fleur De Force talk about it in one of her monthly favourites videos. I love this because although it's described as fuschia, it's a lot more red than it is pink, so it makes a great alternative if you're not into full on red shades. I paired this with Barry M - Atlantis, a gorgeous glitter nail polish that contains small and large particles of glitter in pink, purple, blue and silver.

For a more subtle, understated nail polish look I would choose Nails Inc - Porchester Square, which is my favourite nude nail polish of all time. For a little more razzle dazzle, I would pair it with L'Oreal - Confetti, a black and white matte glitter top coat which just gives it a little more of a glitzy feel.

Last but certainly not least is Models Own - Red Lustre and Rimmel - Ruby Crush. The combination of a bright, pillar box red paired with a traditional red and silver glitter just screams Christmas. You could get away with just wearing Rimmel - Ruby Crush, but I prefer to use a red nail polish underneath just to make sure that my nails are completely painted and don't have any gaps because of the glitter.

What do you think of my Christmas nail options? Do you have any go-to looks? Let me know in the comments!

What I Got For My Birthday/October & November Favourites

Considering my birthday is the 27th of October, it's only taken me nearly two months to do this blog post. *face palm* Although, because I've been getting so much use out of my birthday presents and haven't been using much else, this post can double up as an October and November Favourites post as well.
I just wanted to say (but without sounding like I'm bragging, even though I was completely spoilt because it was my 21st!) that this isn't everything I got for my birthday, I also got some lovely clothes, a bag, sweets and other bits and pieces as well.
Also, you'll start to notice a bit of a theme throughout this post. *cough* rose gold addict *cough*

Make-Up Bits

When my parents asked me what I wanted for my birthday, it was no surprise to them when I said that I wanted the Zoeva Rose Golden Brush Set. These were on my wish list for ages because it seemed like everyone had them, but not only that, they looked and sounded like gorgeous brushes and they definitely lived up to their expectation! As an extra surprise, they got me the NARS Dual-Intensity Blush - Fervor, a gorgeous peachy pink shade and rose gold shade, because I haven't tried anything from NARS before. They also got me the The Vintage Cosmetic Company Rose Gold Eyelash Curler, just to add some more rose gold into my life!
When my boyfriend asked me what I wanted for my birthday, again it was no surprise to him either when I said that I wanted the Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette. I love the Urban Decay Naked palettes, they are my absolute favourite when it comes to quality and shade range. I can't wait to find the time to do full reviews on everything!

Jewellery Bits

As my main present from my parents, I wanted something that I could keep forever and say that I got it for my 21st birthday, so I got the Olivia Burton The Dandy Grey & Rose Gold Watch as they have the most beautiful, delicate watches which always stick to a classic style that will never go out of fashion. As a surprise, my boyfriend got me the Pandora Rose Gold Ring because he was sneaky and read my 21st Birthday Wish List. Whenever my best friend and myself are buying presents for each other, we never tell each other what we want and just leave each other up to our on devices, so I had no idea that she got me a Storie Rose Gold Necklace (out of stock, similar here), which I absolutely love as I have loads of charm bracelets, but not a charm necklace. I also got quite a few Nomination Charms because I only had one charm on my bracelet before my birthday (Birthday Cake Charm), so my best friend got me the Sisters Charm, her Mum got me the Cocktail Charm and my boyfriend got me the White Heart Plaque Charm (out of stock, similar here).

I really was well and truly spoilt for my 21st birthday and I'm so grateful for what I got, but my favourite part was getting to spend some much needed time with my family and friends, which should always be the most treasured part in my opinion.

Christmas Wish List/Gift Guide

Just incase you didn't know already, Christmas is my favourite time of the year. My favourite thing about Christmas is having more time to spend with my family and friends, as I don't get to as often as I would like. Also, you just can't beat Christmas dinner and the mountain of chocolate that lasts well into February in my house.

As much as I love receiving pretty things at Christmas, I get so much more joy out of giving presents at Christmas time and I've already got all my Christmas shopping done. I just need to get everything wrapped and looking pretty, then I'll be ready to start placing them under everyone's Christmas tree.

What's on your wish list for Christmas? Or what's your favourite thing about Christmas? Let me know in the comments!

Seventeen Eye Eye Shadows*

One of my favourite things about the festive season is being able to wear glitter all the time without anyone batting an eyelid. I'm all about glittery jumpers, glittery shoes, glittery nail polish and of course, glittery eyeshadows!

These two Seventeen Eye Eye Shadows are relatively new additions to my ever-growing eyeshadow collection and they've been much loved ever since I received them.
I generally love Seventeen as a brand, their Phwoarr Paint Concealer is my absolute favourite, but I didn't try any of their eyeshadows before, so I was intrigued to check them out.
The two shades I have here are Statuesque and Rose Quartz. Statuesque is a gorgeous golden bronze glitter and Rose Quartz is an equally gorgeous rose gold glitter.

I was blown away by the quality of these eyeshadows, they apply creamy and pigmented and blend like an absolute dream. I was a bit concerned about fallout and longevity, but my worries were soon shunned as there was no fallout whatsoever because the shadow is pressed so tightly into their simple, yet practical packaging.
Also, they last all day on my eyelids, even without an eyeshadow primer. So, they are perfect for a quick sweep of colour on my eyelids in the morning when I don't have the time to get the big eyeshadow palettes out.

These little eyeshadows really do pack quite a punch and could give some more expensive brands a run for their money. They're an absolute steal at only £3.89 each and considering Seventeen products are usually on some kind of promotion, why would you not give them a try? I'm considering picking up a few more shades myself!

What do you think of the Seventeen Eye Eye Shadows? Would you try them? Let me know in the comments!

Dove DermaSpa Range*

As the days are becoming increasingly colder as the seasons change from Autumn to Winter, it really does have a huge impact on my skin. Whether this is down to the increased layers, having the heating on or just the general sharp, icy air that's sweeping across the country at the minute. Even though my body is hidden away under many layers during Autumn and Winter (because I can't resist buying cute jumpers) it's still important to look after my skin to prevent it from becoming dry and irritated.

This is when the Dove DermaSpa range steps in. Dove is a brand that I've trusted for many years as their products are effective, yet affordable and have featured many times on my blog before, such as the Refresh & Care Dry ShampooSummer Glow Body Lotion and the entire Oxygen Moisture (For Fine, Flat Hair) range. So, whenever I heard that they were releasing the new DermaSpa range, I was very keen to see how the products would trial.

First of all, there's different collections within the DermaSpa range, such as DermaSpa Goodness³ and DermaSpa Uplifted+, but there's also the DermaSpa Summer Revived Body Lotion and the DermaSpa Intensive Hand Cream.

I actually gave the Uplifted+ Body Oil and the Uplifted+ Massaging Body Roll-On to my mum because they're targeted for improving the skins elasticity and firmness, so she dibs on these two because she would get more use out of them, but as far as I can tell, she's a fan of both!

The Goodness³ Body Oidoes exactly what they say on the bottle, it transforms dry skin and leave it feeling silky soft. I like to apply mine straight out of the shower because it sinks in straight away and doesn't leave a greasy residue on the surface of the skin.

The Goodness³ Hand Cream keeps dry skin at bay due to the velvety formula, which sinks straight into the skin. However, the Intensive Hand Cream is a step up, as it soothes and repairs dry hands, which is much needed in the cold weather.

Finally, I had high expectation for the Summer Revived Body Lotion (Fair To Light) since I love the original Summer Glow Body Lotion so much and I'm pleased to report that it hasn't let me down, as the luxurious lotion glides onto the body with ease, absorbing quickly and providing a subtle tan overnight with no streaks or smudges, which is perfect for festive parties if you don't want to wear fake tan.

My stand out products from the range are the Goodness³ Body Oil and the Intensive Hand Cream as I've been using them every night since I got them and I've noticed a huge difference to the condition of my skin. Another mention has to go to the Summer Revived Body Lotion (Fair To Light), as I use it on special occasions and it gives my skin a light glow without being too much, which is perfect for me because I don't suit the heavy, fake tan look because I'm naturally so pale.

Mini Lush Haul

Last month, around the middle of October, I went on a shopping trip and popped into Lush to look at the Halloween collection, so it was no surprise that I had to pick a few little treats up! In fact, I'll need to plan another trip soon to pick up some of the Christmas collection, because who can resist Lush products at Christmas time!?

The Comforter Bubble Bar is one of the best selling products in Lush and if you've used it, or even smelled it, it's pretty clear to see why. With a concoction of Cassis Absolute, Bergamot Oil and Cypress Oil, it gives the distinctive scent of blackcurrant which provides a comforting, yet uplifting sensation. I actually prefer bubble bars to bath bombs as I find them a lot more moisturising and I get much more use out of them. For example, I usually break The Comforter Bubble Bar into pieces of 4 or 6, which obviously provides 4 -6 lovely pink baths! As well as being a Lush favourite, it's definitely one of mine that I'll buy again and again.
I also highly recommend checking out The Comforter Shower Cream, which I've used up, so I'll definitely have to repurchase that next time I'm in Lush, or placing a sneaky order online.

The only bath bomb I picked up and yet another Lush best seller was the Dragon's Egg Bath Bomb. It looks simple enough from the outside, but when placed in the bath, it disperses colours of pink and green, then eventually breaks down into a gorgeous orange with pinky red petals floating on top of the water. Due to the Lemon Oil, Bergamot Oil, Jasmine Oil and even Popping Candy, it leaves your bathroom smelling like the most amazing lemon sherbet in the world.

The only thing I picked up from the Halloween collection was the Sparkly Pumpkin, which is now sadly no longer available on the Lush UK website. However, I highly recommend picking it up next year as it's the one product I'm sure I will buy every time the Halloween season rolls around. Not only does it look incredible, it smells incredible as well, boasting the typical Lush cocktail-like scent, due to the blend of Juniperberry Oil, Grapefruit Oil and Lime Oil. Just be prepared to be seriously glittery whenever you come out of the bath!

What do you think of my mini Lush haul? Would you try anything from it? Let me know in the comments!

Laura Geller Baked Balance N' Brighten Foundation

I've surprised myself that I haven't done a review of the Laura Geller Baked Balance N' Brighten Foundation before now, as I just can't seem to stop going on about it! This year seems to be the year of good foundation discoveries for me, as I'm either wearing this or the L'Oreal Infallible Matte Foundation. Granted, I only wear the L'Oreal foundation when I want my skin the look super flawless, so like special occasions or if I'm doing something when I know there's going to be photo taking involved.

First of all, this foundation has a powder to cream formulation, which means it goes on like and feels like a fine powder, but has the coverage a cream foundation. It feels absolutely weightless on the skin a provides a flawless luminous base, due to the colour correcting properties within the foundation.

I'm always glad whenever companies make foundations that are actually light enough for my skin tone. I use the shade Porcelain, which as you would probably guess, is a very light shade with peachy pink swirls throughout it. Again, due to the colour correcting properties.

When looking at the ingredients on the back of the foundation one day, I noticed that it contains an ingredient called Centella Asiatica and White Tea Extract. I had no clue what the skin benefits of these two ingredients were, but after some research I discovered that they both provide antioxidant protection, which I've actually noticed is making a positive difference to my skin because I've had fewer breakouts and blemishes since I've been using this.

I can't even begin to explain to you how easy this is to apply, there's no faffing around with which brush or sponge to use with it as I bought the Laura Geller Retractable Baked Powder Brush to go with the foundation and it makes application so easy. I shorten the brush so that the bristles are more dense in places I need more coverage, like around my nose and chin, and then just lengthen the brush out again to dust over the rest of my face, so all in all, it takes me around 30 seconds to a minute to do my foundation in the morning, which is extremely important for those extra minutes in bed now that it's started to get colder in the morning.

I've honestly never used something quite like this before, I've went through 3, nearly 4 containers of this foundation since I discovered it, which is a testament to how much I love it. No matter what foundations they release in the future, I'll always have one of these in my make-up stash.
