Essie Professional Routine Mini Kit

Last week there was no NOTW | Manicure Monday post because I finally got my hands on the dinky little Essie Professional Routine Mini Nail Kit and wanted to put it to the test. I was pretty sure that this used to be sold in Boots, but whenever I went in store or looked online they didn't have any. However, just by good luck I found this set for £7.99 in TK Maxx, but then whenever I looked online, I saw that Fragrance Direct sold them for an incredible £5.99!
The set contains a 5ml bottle of First Base Base Coat, a 5ml bottle of Mademoiselle and a 5ml bottle of Good To Go Top Coat. All of the nail polishes apply like a dream, with no streakiness at all. Plus, both the base coat and the top coat dry fairly quickly so it reduces the time taken to do manicures, which is always a bonus. However, when I was applying Mademoiselle, it did take around 3 thick coats to make it fully opaque, but this could just be down to it being a very pale shade.
After wearing the kit for a little more than a week, there was a few chips, but nothing that you would notice unless you were really staring at my nails. I can definitely see myself buying the base coat and the top coat in the future as I really was impressed by them, they both left my nails feeling so strong and shiny. The Mademoiselle nail polish is definitely a pretty shade once it's fully opaque, it would be so ideal if you weren't allowed to wear nail polish to school, work etc. or if you like really subtle shades! Plus, at only £5.99 down from £14.99, you can't really go wrong!

Weekly Snapshots

First of all, I would like to apologise for my absence this week. I had a few assignments for uni due in for this week, then on top of that I've been feeling a little under the weather due to cold and flu season being upon us. I need to start taking more vitamins! Anyway, hopefully I can resume blogging again as soon as possible as I have some ideas I can't wait to bring to life!

1. Matching with the weather in my shirt that has little black clouds on it.
2. Incredible lunch and hot chocolate at uni.
3. Warm and cosy in my Bambi slipper socks, as usual.
4. Following up from last weeks chocolate discovery, I had to try these!
5. So much want for a Michael Kors phone purse.
6. Selfie before ice-cream and cinema with my best friend!
7. Honeycomb ice-cream and waffles, droooool.
8. Annabelle and an extra large pick n' mix to hide in.
9. What I came home to. My family clearly think they're hilarious.

How was your week? Do you have anything exciting planned for the week ahead? Let me know in the comments!

Boohoo Haul

Molly Monochrome Check Ankle Grazer Skinny Jeans

So, these jeans are actually supposed to be ankle grazers, which means that they make a perfect full length for me, so I'd recommend any short-legged girl who's struggling to find a good fitting pair of gingham jeans to give these a try, no rolling up required!

Grace Scallop Edge T Shirt

I'm so glad I spotted these before I bought the identical Topshop versions which are £6 more than these ones. I bought the colours 'Nude' and 'Wine' because I know I'll get so much wear out of them, but there is also a black and khaki colour available as well! I'm surprised by how good the quality is, no vest top is needed below them!

What do you think of my Boohoo haul? Have you bought anything recently? Let me know in the comments!

Nails Of The Week | Manicure Monday

A deep, autumnal purple with a hint of glitter thrown in. This has been one of my favourite nail combinations recently! I'm also on the lookout for a new base and top coat, so if you have any recommendation they would be appreciated greatly!

Superdrug Haul

A couple of weeks ago I popped into Superdrug to find a new moisturiser, which I did get, but I also got a lot of other bits and pieces that I really didn't need, ooops.

With Autumn well underway my skin has became a bit on the dry side, so I thought I'd buy this moisturiser from Simple because I remember trying it when I was just getting into skincare and it worked a treat.
I also thought I'd pick up the eye roll on since I'm back at uni and will be staring at a screen for the majority of the day, so this will keep my eyes cool, refreshed and less irritated.
I couldn't resist picking up another Tanya Burr lipgloss, it's such a pretty everyday pink shade and I can wear this all year round as well.

Simple Hydrating Light Moisturiser
Simple Revitalising Eye Roll On
Tanya Burr Lipgloss - Picnic In The Park

When I saw the new Rimmel foundation in my shade I couldn't not pick it up as I usually have to order my shade online. It's made it's way into my September Favourites and I can see myself loving this all season.
The new Rimmel brow gels were also something I was excited to see because I like using their eyebrow pencils so much. I've been using this ever since I got it and I really am impressed, I'll have to do a review soon.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Nude Foundation - Light Porcelain
Rimmel Brow This Way Brow Gel - Medium Blonde

Recently I've been on the lookout for a new concealer since I'm so dependant on the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer, I thought it would be nice to try something different just for a change, although I will always have a back-up of the Collection concealer, just incase of emergencies.
You've probably already seen this nail polish if you're a regular around these parts as I've featured it on a NOTW. I was completely smitten whenever I saw it, it's the perfect autumnal berry shade and I love the formula of these nail polishes.

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer - 15
Maybelline Super Stay 7 Days - Berry Stain

September Favourites

I don't know about you, but September seems to have flown in, probably because I started back to uni last week and I've been so busy, but I've already noticed the chill in the air and it's starting to get dark a lot quicker, Autumn has arrived!

Dove Oxygen Moisture Shampoo
Dove Oxygen Moisture Conditioner
Dove Oxygen Moisture Root Lift Spray

So, for the past month my mother and myself have referred to this Dove trio and the holy trinity of haircare, we both love it. I'm always looking for products to give my fine, flat hair a bit of volume and oompft without lacking in the moisture department and these do exactly what they claim. They are an absolute dream to use, the shampoo lathers nicely and the conditioner glides through my hair like silk, plus they both have a lovely clean scent. The spray is something I can see myself purchasing over and over again, a non-sticky formula with the same clean scent as the shampoo and conditioner, yet it gives my hair so much lift without weighing it down or looking greasy, I'm smitten.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Nude Foundation - Light Porcelain

I only bought this a few weeks ago, but from first use it was love and a definite winner for a monthly favourite. It blends flawlessly and has a good medium to high coverage, yet you can use less/more depending on the coverage you want. I haven't used any other foundations since buying this because it stays put all day for me whenever I have a long day at uni. I wake up at 5:30 and get ready, then whenever I go to take my make-up off at night, usually around 9 o'clock, you wouldn't think I would have been wearing it for that length of time.

Elemis Skin Clear Overnight Serum

I've already featured this on my blog as a Skincare On Trial post and as you've probably guessed, it's made the cut and I plan to do a full review of this soon. First things first, it's the only skin clearing treatment that hasn't dried my skin out and made it worse. It's really gentle, yet really effective. I didn't notice any difference in my skin until about two weeks into using this, but it was definitely worth the wait, my skin has improved so much since cutting out a lot of unnecessary products and swapping them with this, I may even do a skincare routine post soon!

Primark Bambi Slipper Socks

You know Autumn has officially arrived whenever Primark start bringing in their fluffy pyjamas and slippers. I just can't say no to Primark's Disney stuff!

New Look Bobble Hat

This is also the time of year whenever I start stocking up on bobble hats, I love the ones that New Look always bring out and I've worn this at every possible opportunity this month!

Cadbury Dairy Milk Marvellous Creations

Autumn is also the time of year when I can't wait to get home, get ready for bed and get a massive cup of tea and a bar of chocolate. I used to eat the Marvellous Creations bars all the time until I sickened myself with them, but whenever I saw that Tesco's were doing the big bars for 2 for £3.50 I just couldn't resist!
